Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and while some people are getting the guest list together, others are planning out their traditional menu. Family and food both play a key role in the holiday festivities.
The holiday is a time when family comes together and reconnects over a copious amount of food. The question is, what component do you look forward to the most? Is it spending time with your family? Or the abundance of food that is placed in front of you?
Junior Aaliyah Milord’s favorite part about the holiday is, “The food! The turkey is definitely my favorite Thanksgiving dish.” However, for Milord, she does not look forward to time spent with family because she sees them throughout the year.
In contrast, students such as Grace Sanders, Sophomore, do not get to see their family all the time. So, when the day finally comes, they cannot think of anything better than catching up with their loved ones. Sanders says, “I love spending time with them because I don’t get to see them often.”
Thanksgiving is all about giving thanks for what you have been given, but there is always one thing that sticks in your mind when you think of the holiday. Whether it’s visiting with family or eating loads of food.
